The Beaches

The Sunshine States stunning beaches are many and varied. Florida boasts thousands of miles of coastline so wherever you go you can be sure to find a stretch of warm soft sand to soak up the sun, swim or surf on. Miami’s Tony South Beach is the place to be seen, and the sightseeing there is pretty decent. Siesta Key, near Sarasota has a myriad of beautiful white sandy beaches that are perfect for families. Farther southwest, the Marco Islands, which are a collection of 10,000 islands filled with resorts and luxury accommodation, if that’s your thing.

Water Sports

It goes without saying that in a state with such an abundance of coastline that the options for water sports are a plenty. There are plenty of exciting adventures to be had, from scuba diving, wind surfing, wake boarding and parasailing. For the more relaxed vacationer, fishing and sailing are great options. Many of the hotels offer diving lessons or fishing cruises and some even have watercraft for hire. So get out there and get wet!

The Night Life

The great philosopher William Smith said it best. “ Party in the city where the heat is on, all night on the beach till the break of dawn”. The nightlife in Miami is unbelievable and sizzles all year round. Miami Beach, Ft. Lauderdale goes off (especially around spring break). In the central region Walt Disney World has a pleasure island area, where adults can go and party like its 1999 every night of the year. Wherever you are in Florida though there are a good collection of nightclubs and bars to satisfy all age groups.

So you see, Florida is not just for the oldies.

I plan on heading to America next year for the Coachella music festival and Florida is a must on my USA bucket list.
